Techland, the developers of Dead Island and Dead Island Riptide, approached Deep Silver with the story and layout for Dying Light. Deep Silver told them to basically scrap that and work on a more "casual and less scary" version (basically remove parkour and make it just a copy of dead island but in a town).

If you were holding out hope that Dead Island: Definitive Edition would address all the problems with Dead Island, or that Deep Silver would spend a lot of money completely altering and improving a five-year-old game that isn’t remembered very fondly, you’ll be disappointed.The Definitive Edition is just Dead Island and Riptide with all the DLC and some graphical improvements.

However, this mod do not work with my Riptide definitive edition, which it is suppose to be made for these editions, the definitive ones. It seems they do not deliver on the basic issue, which is being working mods for the 2 Dead Island Definitive Edition, the original and the Riptide.
